This is my favorite part of the blog, as I get to share with you some of the most important quotes that have shaped me into who I am today. These have surely changed my view upon life itself, and how profound thoughts can be passed into others through simple and clear words, something that still fascinates me until today.
Khalil Gibran
"Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars"- Khalil Gibran
"The teacher who is indeed wise does not bid you to enter the house of his wisdow but rather leads you to the threshold of your mind"- Khalil Gibran
"Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding. It is the bitter potion by which the physician within you heals your sick self. Therefore, trust the physician and drink his remedy in silence and tranquility."- Khalil Gibran
Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz
“We live in the best of all possible worlds.” – Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz

René Descartes
“I think therefore I am” – René Descartes
"The greatest minds are capable of the greatest vices, as well as of the greatest virtues"- René Descartes
Aristotle
"Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but we rather have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit."- Aristotle
"Those who educate children well are more to be honored than they who produce them; for these only gave them life, those the art of living well."- Aristotle

Albert Einstein
"The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge, but imagination"- Albert Einstein
"Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning."- Albert Einstein
"We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them."- Albert Einstein
"Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius -- and a lot of courage -- to move in the opposite direction."- Albert Einstein
"A human being is a part of a whole, called by us universe, a part limited
in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as
something separated from the rest... a kind of optical delusion of his
consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our
personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must
be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to
embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty."- Albert Einstein

Lovely quotes, Rima.
ReplyDeleteYet, I really liked Einstein's Quotes the most. In fact, I loved them.
The focal point is "Creativity", creativity in everything. Creativity in our dealing with problems, creativity in our understanding of the world around us,and creativity in all our behavior.
We have to properly understand the world and its minute details before we proceed. In both phases, creativity is a fundamental key to success. As teachers, our role is doubled: first towards ourselves, and then in achieving our mission by engraving, implanting, and training our students on this.
Thanks Rima..
Thank you Hanaa for your comment, that is absolutely right. Creativity is the mere spice to our lives and as teachers it should be our main goal, to inculcate others with the will to use their imagination and interelate different concepts together in turn creating fascinating outcomes as they move forward. I am very sure that this is not a problem for you in fact your words just portray the creativity you hold which makes me wonder who else does as well. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!.
DeleteActually, I liked them all. But the quotation that caught my attention was the one of Albert Einstein about the sign of intelligence, which is not the knowledge but it is the imagination. And I believe Hanaa, that imagination is the base of our creation, without imagination we will be stuck just in the concrete world. Imagination leads us to more abstract ideas, that in turn leads us to more philosophical questions that enables us to dive into the depth of our creative thinking.
ReplyDeleteThank you Hiba! I am glad you were able to relate to some of these inspirational thoughts. That is absolutely right imagination is the mere base to our creation, we need it, we strive for it and eventually we will be able to discover it!
